Open directories are places on the internet with directories that are unprotected. Normally when you create a new directory on your server you add and index.html or index.htm to it so that a search engine will not simply load the page along with an index of whatever may be in that directory.
I found that open directories are a hot subject, interesting places where you never know what you will find. At the link above, on Reddit, there is a whole sub-reddit devoted to it. You will find anything from movies, TV series, Software, Music and anything else you might wish to find. You will also run across virus files, hacked files, worms and just about anything else you can imagine; so my advice is run a scan on anything you decide to download and tread carefully. I would post some links here, but they don’t last long. The best thing to do is follow along at the link above. And, as an additional note browsing these directories could open you up to problems with your ISP, the Law and Hackers. Use a VPN. Why? It hides your identity. You can’t be tracked and you can’t be hacked.
There are places to get one, probably as many as you can think of. I went through a few before I made a choice. I ran that VPN (I won’t mention the name) for a month and thought it was so-so, if only the sites I visited had more speed. A little experimentation one night showed me the sites weren’t slow the VPN was. Instead of waiting hours for a download I could have it in a few minutes.
What I use: https://portal.privatetunnel.com/apps
I use the product myself. I don’t do paid sponsors of any kind, if you ever see something sponsored, or appearing to be sponsored here it is something I own, wrote, have an interest in, and it will be a link to the product, never an endorsement of any kind. So I linked Private Tunnel because I use it and it works very well. Great security, fast downloads. Awesome.
I do not endorse theft of media
