Song Title: Solution Six Style:Blues / Alt

Verse One:

Dark street... Dark day... One Way...

Minds Meet... I say... No way...

Can't tell you anything... Anything... You don't already know...

Verse Two:

Beauty... In between... Seventeen...

Reality... I've seen... She's so serene...

Girl's got everything... Everything... And you want her too...

Hook

And if you find my mind's … A little hard to take... And you think your own way can get you there...

Just spit me out … And walk yourself away... … Ain't nobody... … Anywhere... Really gonna care...

Verse Three:

Pretty face... Dark hair... Right there...

Misplace... My stare... Barely care...

Can't do nothing... Nothing... But watch the show...

Hook

And if you find my mind's … A little hard to take... And you think your own way can get you there...

Just spit me out … And walk yourself away... … Ain't nobody... … Anywhere... Really gonna care...

Instrumental----------------------Finger picked-----------------------------------------

Verse Four:

Good by... Gotta go... You know...

Some lie... Down low... Cold like snow...

But you can't own anything... Anything... That never belonged to you...

Why I Wrote It:

I wrote this song after a visit, in prison from one of my nieces. The other guys in the room were really looking her over. It made me kind of angry, you don't do that in prison. Anyway I caught their eyes one by one and it stopped. Later, after some thought, I realized it was only life. I've done it myself. The lyrics probably make better sense to you now.

The other part of the song that identifies with the girl came from someone I loved.

Putting the song together turned a corner for me. I had written songs since A minor but nothing I liked. I thought they all had to be like A minor, or should be. With this song I tried to express myself as minimally as possible and it worked. It made me realize songs are songs. They come to you the way they come to you. It's a take it or leave it situation, at least for me. I realize some writers can write on demand. I can't. Everything I write comes from something. If not it will just sit in the notebook. I'll never use it. It's the same way with my novels.

This is, without a doubt, my favorite song.
