Scrap Acoustic guitar build.
This is a scrap Acoustic guitar build. I buy this in large packs, some are worth fixing, some are not. In all cases, before they are sold, the guitars are stripped completely. Anything that can come off is taken off and sold by the original scrap buyer. What is left is sold to me or another buyer who wants to take a chance. I buy these in lots, usually 25 or 50 damaged and stripped guitars per lot. From there I decide what to do. The ones that are damaged too completely for re-sale I turn into projects for myself. This is one of those projects.
Parts: I purchase replacement parts for the husks/bare bones guitar shells. The parts are usually Korean/Japanese/Chinese. Occasionally American, but where do those sellers get their parts? Usually some far East location to be honest. So, long ago I set-up relations with Far East sellers and I buy lots from them too to keep prices down. 10, 25, 100 lots of tuners, or strings, or bone blanks for saddles. Whatever it works out to be, I cut out the middle man and buy the parts. To be honest, most often it is the same place that the American sellers you see get their parts from.
Work: I do all the work in my shop. I back the videos with my music because I enjoy using my builds to record music that I write. My music is registered with BMI, and available for recording work. I have no wish to be a recording star myself, I only include it in my videos because I own it and therefore I don’t have to pay to use it.
Books: I usually do books that follow the build more closely and get into details of how I did the work including images. I deal with Amazon for those and you can find them at this link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0G4FRBCFF
These videos cover the process and are free to watch and learn from. Hopefully they inspire you, Dell.
