Andrea, back in her humble dwelling, noticed it too. The birds, usually a raucous chorus at dawn, were unnaturally silent. The insects, a constant hum of life in the humid air, seemed to have retreated. The vibrant colors of her small herb garden appeared to have dulled, as if a fine layer of dust had settled upon them, a dust that wasn’t visible but could be felt, a muffling of the world’s sensory output. She found herself looking over her shoulder, a habit she had never possessed before, an instinctual awareness of being observed, even in the solitude of her own small space. #Dystopian #ApocalypticFiction #PostApocalyptic #Survival #Kindle #Audible

Over a glass of wine, their laughter echoed, light and carefree at first. They reminisced about their shared experiences, the inside jokes that only they understood, and the moments that had solidified their bond. However, as the night wore on, the playful teasing turned into something deeper. The atmosphere shifted, charged with a magnetic pull that drew them closer.
Deidra reached out, brushing her fingertips against Amy’s arm, igniting a spark that sent shivers down both their spines. It was a simple gesture, yet it carried the weight of unexpressed feelings. Amy looked into Deidra’s eyes, searching for the courage to acknowledge the connection that had been simmering beneath the surface for so long. The world around them faded away, leaving only the two of them suspended in an intoxicating moment of possibility.
With a breathless whisper, Deidra broke the silence, her voice barely above a murmur. “Have you ever wondered what it would be like… between us?” The question hung in the air, heavy with significance. Amy’s heart raced as she nodded slowly, her cheeks flushing with warmth. It was a question they had both danced around for too long, and now, the truth was finally laid bare.
In that instant, they both leaned in, their lips meeting in a tentative kiss that ignited a fire within them. The kiss was soft at first, a gentle exploration of newfound territory, but it quickly deepened, fueled by the passion that had been building for so long. Their bodies pressed together, a perfect fit, as they lost themselves in the moment.
As they explored each other’s lips, the world outside ceased to exist. Their hands wandered, tracing the curves and contours of each other’s bodies with a mix of reverence and urgency. Each touch was electric, sending waves of warmth coursing through them, igniting a flame that consumed them both. They reveled in the intoxicating sensation of skin against skin, the thrill of vulnerability that came with surrendering to their desires.
The room transformed into their sanctuary, a space where they could be entirely themselves without fear or judgment. They shared hushed laughter and tender whispers, their breaths mingling as they discovered the beauty of intimacy. With every caress, they delved deeper into each other’s souls, exploring not just the physical connection but the emotional tapestry that bound them together.
In the heat of the moment, they uncovered secrets and dreams, weaving them into a tapestry of shared experiences. It was a dance of trust and affection, a celebration of everything they had been to each other and everything they could become. They lost track of time, enveloped in each other’s warmth, their bodies moving in perfect harmony like a well-rehearsed choreography.
Neither heard the cell as it continually vibrated and buzzed in Amy’s crumpled school skirt pocket next to the bed
As the night unfolded, they embraced the whirlwind of emotions swirling within them—a blend of excitement, tenderness, and the thrill of the unknown. They knew they had crossed a threshold, stepping into a new chapter of their lives, forever changed by this shared experience. In the quiet aftermath, as they lay entwined, they realized that what had begun as a simple friendship had blossomed into something beautifully profound—a love that would continue to grow, nourished by the intimacy they had discovered together…

The inhabitants of Bend City were as weathered and worn as the town itself. They moved with a slow, deliberate grace, each step measured, each glance calculating. There was a shared fatigue in their eyes, a weariness born not just of the relentless sun and the hard work, but of years of hardship and struggle, of dreams deferred and hopes shattered. #Action #Western #Epic #Suspense #Amazon #Kindle
He continued his movement, a fluid, silent grace that belied the years of brutal confinement. Each step was measured, deliberate, his senses on high alert. The facility, once a labyrinth of oppression, was now a conquered territory, its secrets laid bare, its weaknesses exploited. He ran a hand along the cool, unforgiving surface, feeling the grit and grime, the echoes of countless lives lived and lost within these walls. But now, it was different. This texture was not a symbol of his imprisonment, but a testament to his resilience.
The prison uniform, now discarded in a shadowed alcove, lay like a discarded skin, a molted shell of a former self. It was a stark visual representation of his transformation, a physical shedding of the past. #Crime #Suspense #Thriller #Drama #Kindle #Amazon #Audible

Under the city, a series of caves cut from the limestone by the Black River attract visitors, children, some have entered and never come out; maybe lost, maybe part of Glennville’s secrets.
Something else lives in the cold, dark caves. Something some have suspected but refuse to believe. After all, it’s 1969. Things are rational, safe.

America the Dead Survivor Stories Five contains books nine and ten of the series. Both of these books were unreleased. The Fold Book Two: Rodney stood slowly from Mamma’s grave where he had been kneeling, and turned to the people behind him. Jessie stepped out and the small crowd fell silent. “It’s time,” she said simply, “it’s time to leave.” She turned back to the others and they climbed inside her SUV. A few moments later she backed around, came back up onto the rutted dirt road and started slowly out of the settlement. Most of the inhabitants had left soon after Mamma had died. They had given no reasons, and Rodney had asked for none. Of the more than one thousand people that had been there, there were less than forty now, gathered around them in a circle. The small crowd moved away and quickly gathered what they wished to take with them, which was not a great deal. Less than twenty minutes later a worn caravan of patched and rusty vehicles pulled out of the park at Lake Union, and trekked slowly out of Seattle following Jessie Stone. As they drove east, other encampments joined them, and when they were just beyond the city limits, the small caravan that had started with no more than fifteen vehicles had grown to more than thirty.
Bluechip: It was a beautiful day to be alone. He wondered about the kid, Jingo. What had happened to him? The theory was that the girl, Nikki Moore, had killed him and dumped his body out in one of the swamps. It was possible, he supposed. The money had never turned up, that was all Sammy knew for sure. Or if it had someone else had taken it and knew how to keep their mouth shut. Either way, he wouldn’t be getting his hands on it. It was gone. He looked out over the water. A beautiful early spring day. A good day to call it quits. He rolled forward, daring himself. The edge of the dock just a few inches away. It would be so easy. He took a deep breath, as deep as he was able to, laughed and then released it: Then before he could change his mind he wheeled himself off the end of the dock. The bubbles died away after the first few minutes. Somewhere across the lake a loon cried out.

America the Dead contains books seven and eight of the series. While seven was released, eight was not and can only be purchased in this volume as there are no plans to release it as a single book. The Zombie Plagues: Donita walked down Eighth Avenue towards Columbus Circle. Behind her a silent army followed, numbering in the thousands. From the circle they would take the park. There were thousands of the living camped out in the park. She could smell them on the air that flowed past her face as she walked. They had believed they were safe in their numbers, and for a time that had been true, but no more… The Fold Book One: Doctor Jessie Stone moved through the clinic quickly, her eyes falling on the many faces: Mothers, children, all waiting. She passed the desk, nodded at Vera who held her eyes for a moment. “Give me five minutes, Vera, then start sending them…” She caught the concern in Vera’s eyes. “One in particular?” She asked. “Little girl… Infection, maybe pneumonia,” she shrugged. “Sounded bad to me.” Jessie nodded. “Then send her in first, Vera.” She pushed her way through the doors that lead to the back area and shrugged into a gown before grabbing the first chart off the board and beginning to read.
